Passover, considered by many the watershed event in Jewish history, is the oldest of the biblical Festivals. Initially, a very simple observance, the original elements were matzah (unleavened bread), lamb, and bitter herbs. Over the centuries, the many countries the Jewish People have been scattered to, have influenced the traditions and foods that have come to be part of the Passover Seder (order of service) to enhance the “Haggadah” (which means ‘the telling’). Passover is the commemoration of the historical deliverance from slavery in Egypt. For Christians, it is also the foreshadowing of our redemption from sin and death purchased through Jesus, the Lamb of God.
Join us on Sunday, April 2nd @ 5 pm in our Church Hall as we gather to celebrate this ancient festival.
